Leftpop is the project of composer, improviser, and producer Harrison Adams.
His current work is inspired by acoustics and phenomena of the natural world–movements of wind, rain, clouds; open spaces and landscape; the life-cycle of flowers.
Across a decade of performances and recordings, he has interwoven field-recordings, analog synthesis, spoken-word poetry, data sonification, and experimental beats, interrogating ecology, media, and mental health.
His album Rain Enough is out now on New Memento.
“These are loosely structured pieces that wander and breathe. They perform more like quiet conversations with the natural world…That connection to the earth through music translates to a message to care for this planet.”
– James Michael, The New Lofi

“Gentle piano notes that imitate, respect and complement the patterns of rain…This is the beauty of instrumental music; coming together to become an abstract vision of your internal psyche.”
– Nishant Varma, Sinusoidal Music
“These are loosely structured pieces that wander and breathe. They perform more like quiet conversations with the natural world…That connection to the earth through music translates to a message to care for this planet.”
– James Michael, The New Lofi
“The tone of the piano on these three tracks is immaculate…The idea is being clearly expressed musically, but then it is allowed to wiggle around a bit, sauntering about in the space provided. The album is altogether reflective, but not pretentious, allowing the listener to simply get lost in the soft keys.”
– Lars Haur, On the Fringes of Sound
